it's the small things

Thank you for welcoming me back after the Quebec trip to my family's lighthouse with these.

Thank you for taking an upskirt shot of Superman in Metropolis, IL.

Thank you for adoring these guys even when they pester you in the morning.

Thank you for suffering through blistered feet to trek across hilly San Francisco so I could see Lombard Street.

Thank you for braving the elements and my moods.

Thank you for finding my face edible.

I like your face, too.

  1. oh this is just lovely, Fancy. It so touched my heart with its sweet authenticity. And a lighthouse? I have to know about the lighthouse.

  3. Rosie: I keep meaning to write a post about the lighthouse! I'll put it on my to-do list. It's such fascinating stuff (well, it's my family, so I'm biased): my great-great-great aunt Elioza spent her childhood living in a lighthouse in Quebec where her father was the keeper. She later moved to Montreal, became a journalist, and wrote a memoir which was published in 1937. The memoir is excellent: shipwrecks, unrequited love for a French duke whose ship crashed offshore, fraught friendships with the nearby Native community. Full post coming soon :-)
